My new hero

This man flew out of the Milwaukee airport the other day. He decides to protest the TSA's ridiculous, "for show only" security policies, so he takes his quart-size clear plastic bag that contains his travel-size shampoo and toothpaste and writes "Kip Hawley is an Idiot" on the outside of it. Kip Hawley is the current head of the TSA. Well, turns out the screeners don't like this, so they summon a deputy sheriff, who threatens the man with arrest for "threats".

I love the screener's reply to the man's question about using the First Amendment:

"Out there (pointing pass the id checkers) not while in here (pointing down) was his response."

Last I heard, inside the security point at airports was still in America.

I also enjoyed the deputy sheriff's attitude comparing this statement to yelling "fire" in a crowded theater or joking about a bomb:

"I asked how this was even remotely like shouting "Fire" in a crowd, and his answer was
"Perhaps your comments made them feel threatened.""

Perhaps you are an idiot, as well, Mr. Deputy Sheriff.

Today I toured the Anne Frank House, and was reminded of how easily authority can grow out of control. We must never forget that the authorities work for us, and we are their bosses. Don't ever let your Constitutional rights be trampled like this fellow's and not fight back.
