Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-CO, a leader in the fight against giving illegal immigrants legal status in the U.S. (a good thing in my view) was about to give a speech on immigration at Michigan State Law School when he was interrupted by violent protestors who pulled a fire alarm, as well as punched and kicked student attendees of the speech. Tires of attendees were also apparently slashed.
That's the way to win an argument. Shout down your opposition and don't let them speak, and then abuse their supporters. Typical liberal response to someone they don't like daring to soil the campus with their presence. The same thing happened to Ward Connerly a few years ago when he tried to help end racial preferences at the University of Michigan.
It would be interesting to see what the reaction would be if conservatives on campuses used the same tactics when some of the more colorful leftist speakers appear to give speeches. I'm sure they would be called racists and bigots and accused of "depriving people of their freedom of speech". Pure hypocrisy.
