When I arrived at home yesterday, there was a letter waiting for me with no return address. Thinking that it was another one of my many young female fans sending me yet more love notes (note to wife: just kidding!), I opened it, to find an unsigned letter stating that the sender had read my letter to the editor in Tuesday's Star Tribune.
The letter then went on in great length about how George Bush stole the Presidential election in both 2000 and 2004, how "Black Americans" already know all about it, and how conservatives were soon going to learn all of the details as well. The writer helpfully included a typewritten, single-spaced letter with no punctuation detailing more of their theories on these matters, such as how the voting machines were rigged and valid chad results thrown out, and also wished me a great day.
?
(Shrugs shoulders)
Well, at least someone is reading my hard work! Not understanding it, but at least getting my name right!
To review: my letter to the editor was about Al Gore wasting electricity and being a hypocrite, along with half of Hollywood. That's it. Nothing about George Bush, nothing about elections, and certainly nothing about Black Americans.
Since the letter didn't comment on my article specifically, I guess I should assume that my correspondent doesn't like conservatives in general, or thinks that I am a racist who went to Florida and stole it for Bush, all because I don't like Al Gore's hypocrisy.
Whatever. Someone let the tinfoil fall off of their bedroom window, apparently.
Fair notice: Any further communications with no return addresses will be promptly filed in the round can by my desk, without being opened. I have the guts to sign my name to my thoughts, I expect the same from someone who apparently disagrees with me enough to write me personally.
