Ms. Clinton spoke at the Manchester School of Technology today, and took the opportunity to outline her socialistic vision for America:
"Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity."
Apparently it's "village" time again. I especially enjoyed this quote:
"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."
Interesting, but vaguely familiar. I wonder where I've heard that sentiment before? Oh, right, now I remember:
"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." - Karl Marx, 1875
That policy has sure worked out well wherever it's been tried, right, Hillary? I'll bet the 100 million or so people who were killed by Communist governments in the last century would beg to differ with you on that point.
Finally, one more winner from the Queen of Cattle Futures (Now there was a special privilege):
"Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies."
Sorry, dear. Fairness doesn't come from the barrel of a government gun. It results from a limited government and an open and free society that allows people to live their lives independently from onerous official intrusion into every aspect of their private existence. Freedom isn't made to "happen". It exists naturally, until government gets in the way of it. I don't need the government to "work for me". I need it to get out of the way, so that I can work for myself.
No thanks, I'll pass on Ms. Clinton's utopian vision.
