Off topic but interesting, at least to me

An actual conversation overheard at a speed shop this morning, while getting the speedometer in my Nova calibrated:

Speed shop employee on phone with 16-year-old son: I want you to move your Blazer off the street so it doesn't get stolen.

Son (Told to me after conversation was ended): But Dad, the poor people are starting to get their rebate checks from the government, so they'll be less likely to steal stuff right now.

Employee: I don't care about any damn checks, go move your truck!!
