RIP Charlton Heston

We mark with sadness the passing of the actor Charlton Heston, who cared enough about the rights of the individual citizen to not only head the NRA, but also to march in Selma with Dr. King, an enormous personal and career risk for a white male in 1964 America. The execrable George Clooney seems to have forgotten that fact when he mocked Mr. Heston in 2002 for having Alzheimer's disease.

Rest well, sir. Thank you for your decades of service in the advancement of civil rights, of which gun ownership is a critical part, as it allows people to defend those rights. Remember, gun control legislation started in the South as a way of controlling the "uppity" blacks, and to ensure the safety of the sheet-wearing Klan members when they made their rounds.
