That's always easy to say when you have armed guards

Today's Barack Obama "Reasonable gun control" quote:

'"Senator Obama, quoted by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, admitted, “I am not in favor of concealed weapons. I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations.'"

Actually, the facts, should you care to review them, Senator Obama, show that far more innocent people "could" get shot during "altercations" instigated by the criminals and thugs who don't pay one bit of attention to concealed weapons bans than are ever harmed by law-abiding people with carry permits, as the number of those incidents is vanishingly small. The "innocent people" who are injured and killed by robbers, rapists, muggers and killers, and who don't have the means to protect themselves from these predators, are unfortunately known as "crime victims".

There sure are a lot of qualifiers in your statement, sir. "I think" (with no supporting evidence). "Could". "Potential". If you so fervently feel that concealed weapons are so evil, Senator Obama, perhaps you could take the lead in this issue by dismissing your plainclothes Secret Service protection. After all, one wouldn't want any innocent people to be shot during altercations at events that you attend. But then, personal protection in your view is only for the elite and powerful, isn't it?

Thanks to Kimberman at the Twin Cities Carry Forum for the heads-up.

This almost reads like an article from The Onion! "Politician decries concealed weapons while surrounded by guards with concealed weapons"

Sad how life imitates art.
