An email from a friend of mine:
"Chief Justice John Roberts announced less than an hour ago that the Supreme Court would release its three remaining decisions tomorrow, Thu., 6/26/08, beginning at 10 a.m., Eastern time."
As I have written before, I have a personal interest in this case because my father is a resident of Washington, D.C., and he deserves to have the opportunity to own a handgun for self-protection, should he wish to do so.
We'll see if the Supremes agree.

An officially-labeled site of "right-wing extremism" according to the Obama Administration, which overbroadly defines that term in part as:
"Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into...those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or
rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a
single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

In addition, persons who oppose illegal immigration or are against the further regulation of firearms are similarly tarred with the same smeary Federal brush in that assessment.

The disturbing thing is that it was a 5-4 decision, meaning that four justices don't seem to understand the Second Amendment or what the Constitution was written for, and who was to be protected from who. I guess they think that the government needs to be protected from the citizens, and not the other way 'round!
