Unconscionable fear-mongering

"President Barack Obama warned on Thursday that failure to act on an economic recovery package could plunge the nation into a long-lasting recession that might prove irreversible, a fresh call to a recalcitrant Congress to move quickly."

The Messiah warns us that only his master plan, executed exactly down to the smallest detail, will restore prosperity to the country and eliminate the business cycle, something that no one else in history has been able to do, even the Communists with their iron-clad grip on their economies.

"Give me every last little thing I demand or the country may cease to exist."

Nice. Nothing like a little scare tactics to start off one's day.

"Additionally, Democrats turned back an attempt to strip out a provision that Obama has said was essential. It would provide a tax cut of up to $1,000 for working couples, including those who do not make enough to pay income taxes."

Making it not a tax cut, but rather income redistribution. Get your terms correct, AP. I also like the incorrect propaganda qualifier "working couples" here, because people with no income at all would be eligible for the bonus. And just why is this particular detail so important to saving the Union, other than as a re-election guarantee?
