Just another perk of the job

Only a person who wears a badge for a living (in New York City this time) could possibly be discovered to have a kidnapping victim tied up in his garage and subsequently NOT be taken into custody, charged with a crime or even suffer the loss of his job.  Nope, Detective Ondre Johnson was merely relieved of his badge and gun and put on upaid suspension.

That'll show him the error of his ways.

I can see your frustration, but unpaid suspension probably means charges are coming. When we talk about the blue wall of silence, usually the end result (e.g. Marvin Treptow case) is that the officer gets a PAID vacation.

Agreed that any of--absent truly exonerating evidence and probably even with the same--would have been cuffed and taken to the graybar hotel for a nice chat under the hot light or worse. But this probably is going to lead to some career altering situations for the officer.
