The "Boycott" Today

The illegal immigrants are marching today to demand their "rights". Someone needs to tell them that because they are here illegally and are criminals, they have no rights. I am a fan of immigration, if you are here legally then welcome, but there has to be some control of our borders and immigration. We are being overrun with illegals, who put a strain on all of our social services, as well as drive entry level wages down. Do you realize that it is a felony to be in Mexico illegally? Why is our changing the law to equal that such an evil, racist act? Unfortunately, Mexico has a thoroughly corrupt government, and it is to their advantage that poor people migrate out of their country, and then send back billions of dollars to their relatives back home. This takes much of the pressure off of the Mexican and other Central American governments to provide services to these people.

In my opinion, the fastest way to start solving the problem would be to put employers who hire illegals in jail. If the jobs (demand) would dry up, then so would the supply. It is just not that hard to determine if someone is here legally or not. The employers choose to ignore that.

Additionally, a sense of fairness is also why we need to work on this problem. People that do the right thing and wait to immigrate legally are pushed aside by the rude line-jumpers. I know several individuals that moved here from other countries legally. To a person, they report that the process is long and involved, but they hung in there and completed it. They do not like seeing someone here illegally, because it makes them feel like chumps for doing things the right way.

I guess it boils down to this: I don't like it when people cut in front of me at the grocery store, and the same principle applies here. Wait your turn.
