So much for free thought on campus

These Wellesley students were arrested for writing peace signs and slogans on the sidewalk - in chalk, for God's sake.

Now, don't get me wrong, I think these students are a bunch of silly euphorians, but I think the "authorities" went just a little overboard here. Last I heard, the First Amendment still applies in Wellesley, and chalk washes away with the next rain. No harm, no foul. I have the image of Barney Fife strutting around saying "All right, you felons, I told you not to chalk that sidewalk!"

Parents, don't let your daughters make hopscotch squares, they might be put in the pokey next.
