Houston, we have a problem

Officer William Lindsey Jr. of the Houston Police Department grossed over $170,000 last year - $100,000 of that in overtime. This makes him the highest paid officer in the department, according to this article.

Officer Lindsey is an interesting fellow. Turns out that during his career he has had 32 allegations against him upheld by the internal affairs division, for such daring exploits as not turning in drugs confiscated from criminals, verbal abuse towards citizens, turning off his radio and not answering calls, and --hold on to your chair -- overtime fraud!! The good officer has been suspended in the past for falsifying overtime sheets, which is a felony under Texas law.

From the article:
"But several law enforcement officials contacted by the paper expressed surprise that a police officer with Lindsey's record was able to keep his job.
"I'm shocked," said the head of an internal affairs division for one Texas law enforcement agency, who asked not to be named out of fear of reprisals by his employer. "If the internal affairs file of an officer has 32 sustained cases, something's wrong with (that department's) system if he's still employed.""

But only the "authorities" can be trusted with carrying a firearm.

Be careful if you're traveling to Houston before this buffoon retires.
