In a previous posting, I commented on how the dumbass mayor of New Orleans, Ray (Chocolate City) Nagin, and his equally incompetent police chief, Eddie Compass, along with current chief Warren Riley were guilty of multiple crimes against their constituents after Hurricane Katrina. The most egregious one, to me, was the forcible seizure of law-abiding citizens' only means of self-defense during the emergency - their firearms.
Well, the Second Amendment Foundation didn't like it either, and they filed suit in order to have the firearms returned to their rightful owners. The nitwits in charge of New Orleans decided to fight the lawsuit, and filed to have it dismissed. A Federal judge just ruled that the city must submit a response to the accusations, which means that the judge found that the case has merit. Methinks the boys down there got some 'splainin to do.
Meanwhile, we find out today that National Guardsmen assigned to keep the peace in New Orleans have been robbing motorists at traffic stops. Outstanding job, gentlemen. Maybe Nagin and company disarmed the wrong people.
Remember, once only the police have guns, then you have a police state.
