...is Kentucky State Police Detective Jason Manar. Police sometimes wonder why regular people aren't more willing to cooperate and help with investigations. This is one reason why. I understand the need for deception in undercover investigations, such as infiltrating the Mob, buying drugs from dealers, and the like. When a police officer shows up at your door, telling you he is an officer and you are under investigation for sexual assault when he is really fishing for an excuse to look around your house for drugs, that's where I have a problem. When an officer comes to your door and identifies himself, he is acting as an official agent for the government, which has no business lying to its citizens. Why should we believe anything the police tell us, if they're willing to blatantly lie in order to bust someone for a small amount of cocaine and marijuana. Don't get me wrong, drugs are a plague in today's society, but this is the absolute wrong way to go about removing them.
I find it amusing that the Federal government has made it illegal for the peasantry to lie to them, but apparently the reverse isn't true. Det. Manar now works for the FBI in Illinois. How appropriate.
Bush-league, sir. Very bush-league.
Remember, if the police ask to come into your home, YOU DON'T HAVE TO LET THEM. Unless they have a warrant, you are free to tell them to pound sand. Use your Constitutional protections.
