Another batch of thug cops nailed due to video

Previously, I had blogged about a group of police officers in Tennessee that had beaten and tortured a man at his home, and then arrested him on false charges. His wife, who had been ordered to leave their home, alertly activated a voice recorder before she left, and the cops are now honored guests of their own prison.

Well, another group of cops has been nailed, this time in Australia. They allegedly kicked and beat a suspect in their interview room, as well as threatening him with the removal of his ear, all the while unaware that a hidden video recorder was filming everything.

One of the officers has already been warned about perjuring himself in a court hearing, while another collapsed after viewing some of the footage.

From the article:

"Detective Senior Constable Dabb told the hearing he was unaware that a recording device had been placed in the room. He collapsed in the witness box after being shown some footage."

because,

"Earlier, Senior Constable Dabb said accusations by the OPI against the squad, revealed on Monday, were scurrilous."

Doh!

It must really suck to watch your career and your life as you know it, not to mention your honor and integrity, come to an end all at once.

Contrast this event with the man in New Hampshire who was arrested and charged with a felony for taping his encounter with police at his own house with his home security system. Now, why would he want to do that?

Something to think about.

Remember, only the police are professional enough to videotape everything. If you're not doing anything wrong, peasant, what do you have to worry about?

I am not surprised, and more people need to know about this.
