The Commerce Department has lost 1,100 computers since 2001, of which 672 were assigned to the Census Department. Of those 672, 246 had the personal data of citizens on them. The government has said that the data was not misused. How do they know? They can't even keep track of their laptops.
Next time you get that big packet from the Census Bureau or nosy employees knocking at your door, I recommend just giving them the amount of people that live in your house, which is the only answer that is Constitutionally required. Every other question is voluntary, and if they wonder why you won't answer anything else, tell them because of the above reason. It's a census, not a lifestyle quiz.
