More zero-tolerance nonsense

A six-year-old first grader was suspended in Kansas City for bringing a gun to school, under the school's zero-tolerance policy.

What kind of gun, you say? I'm glad you asked.

I can see where a bright orange, 2-inch plastic squirt gun could be easily mistaken for a Glock 17.

Another example of the asinine "thinking" of school administrators blindly following their zero-tolerance policies, which helpfully remove any need for judgment on their part.

For Pete's sake, first-graders bring toys to school. This is a toy. As Sergeant Hulka said to Psycho in the movie Stripes,

"Lighten up, Francis."
