Another liberal hypocrite

Barbra Streisand, an admittedly talented singer who is currently out on her "Yet Another Retirement" tour, has some interesting demands in her tour rider, according to the Smoking Gun website. A rider is a list of things that the artist wants provided at the concert venue by the arena operators, such as food, amenities, luxuries, etc.

It seems that Ms. Streisand, an outspoken liberal and anti-gun advocate, requires that the venues be swept by a police K-9 team before every show. In addition, she requires metal detectors to be placed at every entrance. It must be nice to ensure your own security, but how about all of your loyal fans who have to park in dark garages and on remote city streets in order to pay your salary, Ms. Streisand? Don't they deserve the ability to protect themselves as well?

I found another interesting tidbit in Ms. Streisand's rider:

"Please, no uniformed police or security personnel on the auditorium floor during the show."

So the police are good enough to sweep the arena for you, but then they have to go into the back of the house with the other hired help, so that you won't have to look at them, is that it, Ms. Streisand? Why are you so ashamed of the public servants ensuring your safety? By the way, who pays for that K-9 team, anyway? Of course, it's probably the poor taxpayer that you're also charging $900 a ticket for the privilege of watching your bad Bush skits during your performance. Just sing the songs. People are there for your music, not your political views, as the Dixie Chicks found out the hard way. Maybe if you just stuck to what you do best, there'd be no need for the tinpot-dictator level security.

A helpful hint for anyone that will be attending one of these concerts: arrive early. Ms. Streisand's fan base is aging rapidly, so with all of those artificial hips, knees, and hearing aids, there's bound to be long lines at those metal detectors.
