Where's Eliot when you need him?

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer was famous for suing just about everyone during his previous tenure as New York's Attorney General. He sued businesses and individuals left and right for all kinds of "wrongs", real and imagined. A quick Google search turned up an incredible 460,000 results related to him and lawsuits.

I wonder if he'll now have the same zeal about righting wrongs, and direct the new Attorney General to sue the state itself, now that they've admitted posting peoples' private information, including their Social Security numbers, which were then used by thieves to steal their indentification.

From the article:

"The documents were posted on the New York site as a convenience to lenders looking to learn more about the financial status of potential borrowers."

Well, it was convenient for somebody.

Come on, Governor, you were known for being so quick to file suits, where's this one? Citizens were damaged by the state's policies, so it's only fair that you go after it with the same fervor that you went after private businesses. Or is government somehow not as liable as private enterprise when it screws up?

Never mind, I already know your answer.
