Al Gore's favorite intrepid explorers, Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen, who live right here in Minnesota, are on an expedition to the Arctic to call attention to global warming. They have just had to cancel their trip, because the EXTREME COLD (-100 degrees F) was draining batteries too rapidly, and caused Ms. Arnesen to develop frostbite in three of her toes.
The pair are now in Canada, defrosting their little piggies and waiting for a plane back to the U.S.
From the article:
"They were experiencing temperatures that weren't expected with global warming," Atwood said. "But one of the things we see with global warming is unpredictability."
Yep, who would have thought it'd be cold in the Arctic in the winter?

And apparently the weather was completely predictable before global warming.
