The Brady Campaign has issued a statement commenting on the appeals court decision throwing out D.C.'s handgun ban. This part of it pricked up my ears:
"While acknowledging that ‘reasonable restrictions’ to promote ‘the government’s interest in public safety’ are permitted by the Second Amendment, the two-judge majority substituted its policy preferences for those of the elected representatives of the District of Columbia.”
They have now admitted publicly that they think that a total ban on firearms ownership is a "reasonable restriction".
Let's see them try to get out of the corner that they have painted themselves into.
