Scumbag kicked upstairs

Remember Cardinal Bernard Law?

He's the worm who was behind the coverup of hundreds of cases of priests molesting children while he was in charge of the Boston Diocese. It seems that his preferred way of dealing with the priests was to ship them off to unsuspecting parishes, without warning them about their new Father's wandering hands. Discipline? Yeah, right.

Law did not want to go quietly, but he was finally forced to resign in disgrace, and the church announced that he was going to live out his days quietly in some far-off retirement home.

Turns out that's not quite what happened.

Cindy Adams of the New York Post has found out that this piece of garbage is living in splendor in the Vatican, and is an "advisor to the Pope". What ol' Benedict could possibly get from Law that could conceivably be of use escapes me, but the mere fact that he is in that position at all tells me all that I need to know about the Catholic Church.

I am not Catholic, but I've attended services on occasion because friends and family who are have invited me to. No more. I will never again darken the door of a Catholic Church, and I hope that they are sued out of existence for their decades of absolutely shameless behavior in dealing with deviants that scarred innocent children for life.

Here's hoping Bernard Law gets the express elevator to Hell when he finally shuffles off.
