Words can't describe the disgust...

... and revulsion that I felt when reading about this law enforcement "professional":

"Authorities say a former Marysville police officer used his position of authority to prey on young girls, forcing several to have sex with him in exchange for favors.

In one case, state Attorney General Tom Corbett says, Robert J. Pavlovich Jr., 39, of the 3000 block of Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, solicited oral sex from a 19-year-old woman with a mild mental disability." (emphasis mine)

But he sure looks good in his paramilitary uniform, doesn't he? There's nothing like having a bunch of "tactical operators" on a small-town police department, just itching for a chance to suit up and use all of that shiny war gear, even though they aren't trained as soldiers, and aren't supposed to be soldiers.

Officer Pavlovich appears to be very comfortable handling his M4 carbine, a weapon that a lot of politicians and police chiefs feel should be restricted to "professionally trained" law enforcement officers, as they don't commit crimes like the rest of us peasants do, and would never use their specially given enforcement powers for personal gain. If law enforcement and the government possess all of the weapons, then one has a police state, and we've seen over and over again how that situation always ends up, and it's never good for the average person.

A former cop who abused his authority, who is also a pedophile. I estimate that he'll last approximately 5 minutes in prison. He must estimate that as well, as he's apparently tried to kill himself twice already.

Thanks to Joel for the heads-up on the story.
