I dropped off my concealed weapons permit application on Monday morning at DPS headquarters in Phoenix. The lady who took the paperwork was very friendly and helpful, and didn't bat an eye when I told her what I was applying for.
In this morning's mail, lo and behold, is my shiny new Arizona permit, the issuing of which took all of 3 full days door to door. It doesn't get much better than that, save for the enlightened states of Alaska and Vermont, neither of which require a permit at all to carry a concealed firearm. I haven't heard of any problems resulting from those states' enlightened policies, either. Have you?
