The Philadelphia Story, continued

A judge in Philadelphia has blocked the implementation of the city's draconian new gun laws, which were illegally passed because the state has full preemption and any city in Pennsylvania is simply not permitted to enact its own regulations.

The injunction comes on the heels of the local DA announcing that she would not prosecute any people arrested for violating said laws. The judge's actions should prevent anyone else from being jailed for violations of the new "laws" until the issue is settled, reducing the amount of people who are going to justly sue the city into oblivion for false arrest.

"Mayor Michael Nutter, who declared a "crime emergency" shortly after taking office in January, quickly signed the City Council bills into law - despite still-pending litigation over earlier gun-control efforts." (Emphasis mine)

Nothing like not waiting to resolve a prior lawsuit before jumping headlong into another ill-advised one, all at taxpayer expense, of course.
