...make the cause a Federal crime:
"Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is drafting legislation that would make it illegal to sell tickets to President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony."
This is the first time this sort of situation has apparently been an issue for an inaugural event, and it is not likely to happen again. Therefore, instead of realizing that this inauguration is a unique event that only a small fraction of the hundreds of thousands of people who wish to will be able to attend, and just gritting her teeth and acknowledging that that's how capitalism goes in this country, Sen. Feinstein wishes to artificially squash the age-old mantra of supply and demand (which always works) and add yet more laws to the thousands already on the books that control every aspect of the lives of the peasants.
She's probably just jealous that she didn't think of charging for the tickets first.
