Lessons from Mumbai

When one lives in a country where only the police can legally possess and carry firearms, and then said cops subsequently decide to hide like cowards when criminals and terrorists strike, the rest of the disarmed population ends up with no one and nothing to defend themselves with, except maybe cameras:

"But what angered Mr D'Souza almost as much were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back. 'There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything,' he said. 'At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back.'

One of Sebastian D'Souza's photos. Police were just as close, yet chose to do nothing while innocent people deprived of their right to self-defense were slaughtered.

Photographer D'Souza should have been the armed person in that station. It seems like he would at least have tried to save some lives.
