Why do Hollywoodies keep supporting this dictator?

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the socialist wannabe-dictator who is the man-crush of such Hollywood elites as Sean Penn, Danny Glover, Kevin Spacey and Naomi Campbell, has unilaterally canceled Cyndi Lauper's Saturday concert in that country, apparently solely because she supports gay rights and Barack Obama.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many liberal big players in the performing arts world rush to go pay their respects to such repressive goons as Chavez, Fidel Castro and others like them who so completely crush free expression among their prisoners subjects, then return to this country and complain about America not being "free enough". The glitterati must labor under the illusion that if someone like that were to be in charge here, they would get some sort of free pass to continue their activism, be allowed to keep their riches, and not be muzzled like the common peasant.

Wishful thinking. They would be among the first people to disappear to the gulags if they didn't play ball and spout the party propaganda.

"As the press in Venezuela [is tightly] controlled, access to official information is almost impossible to get."

Penn and company, undereducated people with superiority complexes who play make-believe for a living, actually hold this style of government out as being superior to ours.

Buffoons.
