Firearms racism in the District of Columbia

The D.C. Police Department has declined to issue resident Tracey Hanson a possession permit for her semiautomatic pistol because (the wheel of lame excuses spins pointlessly) it's the wrong color.

For some unknown reason, the city uses the California Safe Handgun Roster (Why? D.C. wasn't exactly in or near California, at least the last time I checked. And I highly doubt that the finish color of a particular firearm determines its "safety", for Pete's sake), which lists the exact same model of handgun in "olive drab green, dark earth or black", not two tone stainless/black, which is what Ms. Hanson's firearm is colored.

"Peter Nickles, the city's moron attorney general, said he had not seen the lawsuit and could not discuss its details.
But he said he is confident that the D.C. regulations are 'completely appropriate' under the Second Amendment." (Emphasis proudly mine)

I somehow doubt that. We're soon going to find out whether I'm correct or not on that point, however, because Ms. Hanson has retained Alan Gura, one of the attorneys who argued the Heller case before the Supreme Court, to pursue her complaint.

You know, I just don't see this latest blockheaded move working out for the District government, as all of their other attempts to severely limit the type of firearms that can be registered have failed miserably. They don't seem to ever learn from their mistakes, though, so I suppose it's back to the limitless taxpayer money well to finance yet more pointless litigation that they're bound to lose.
