A fellow participant on an email list we subscribe to has pointed out the fact that of the three major U.S. car companies, the only one that's not currently bankrupt (and in the process of being parted out to various bargain-hunting foreign companies) is the one that didn't accept the Federal government's "help", with all of the concomitant business-killing strings and conditions that went along with it.
The tens of billions of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars that our benevolent leaders unconstitutionally doled out to GM and Chrysler have failed to alter their fate in any way, and only served to further wastefully empty our collective pockets.
Congratulations, Ford Motor Company, for smartly avoiding the fate of your peers.

YES. My congratulations to Ford. Congratulations for avoiding lawsuits from consumers knowing no lawyers will help unless there was a personal injury from all the burnt vehicles.
Congratulations for taking no responsibility for the cruise control fires, except for the $10 dollar part you recalled which did'nt help since my 2001 F-150 still burnt to the ground after the recall was fixed.
YES congratulations to the vehicles burnt to nothing. The homes burnt. The lives lost.
Yes congratulations for continuing to hide all fo this from the public. For your lawyers making an offer of $1,000 to avoid small claims. No big deal. I only lost a $12,000 vehicle and another $3,000 in tools.
Oh yes, and congratulations for beating me in small claims. Stating by having the truck towed and junked I signed the tittle over; therfore meaning I sold it. And using the we had no chance to inspect the truck and the could be lack of maintence excuse.
YES CONGRATULATIONS!
Here. Take a bow to all the other victums of your Ford Fires.
