Gun sales in the U.S. reached an all-time high last year (thanks in no small part to the ascension of Dear Leader), yet violent crime continues its precipitous fall, according to the FBI's own figures:
"In fact, the types of crime most likely to be committed with a firearm, murders and manslaughters, experienced one of the greatest rates of decline in 2009 – 7.3 percent."
The truly interesting thing to note will be if the horrifying rate of violent crime in Chicago begins to mirror this national trend now that the city's unconstitutional handgun ban has been struck down. If so, Sarah Brady & Co. will have no argument left at all, as if they ever did.

You mean that as people realize they might get shot for trying to commit a heinous crime, they find other plans for the evening?
Shocker, that, and I love it when a story has a happy (or at least happier than otherwise) ending.
Legally owning a handgun in Chicago has gone from "impossible" to merely "ridiculously difficult." They are doing everything they can to keep it that way. Change will come slowly.
