Somebody's upset, and rightly so

Methinks the crap shower has started to descend upon the politicians.

I've repeatedly tried to call the Republican National Committee and Senator Norm Coleman's office today. I keep getting their voice mail, which won't take my messages because their mailboxes are full. I have also heard from a reliable source that the Senate's email servers kept crashing yesterday, due to the volume of traffic placed on them.

When I do finally get through, I plan to tell them in the strongest terms that if President Bush and my senators support this amnesty plan for illegals (and make no mistake, that is exactly what it is), then I will end my perfect voting record of supporting Republicans, which began in 1988. I will further tell them that I will no longer give so much as a nickel to any future fundraising efforts.

I don't make a habit of appealing to my readers, but in this case I strongly recommend that everyone contact their elected legislators, as well as the White House, and urge them to drop this "compromise" immigration plan. It is doomed to failure, just as the one in 1986 did, and will only encourage more illegal immigration, as well as anger legal immigrants who spent lots of money and time doing things the right way. Let's not reward the line-jumpers.

I have further thoughts on this issue, and I'll try to post them this weekend. I won't make any promises, however, as I am fairly solidly booked.
