A blast from the past

I'm somewhere in the Adriatic Sea on board a cruise ship with some of my wife's family. Early last evening, I was in one of the cocktail lounges having some drinks. I turn around, and guess who's at the table next to mine?

Former Senator Tom "You can't Professionalize unless you Federalize" Daschle, who is apparently enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

It warms my heart to see a former powerful politician standing in line for a bus like the rest of us peasants. No other country in the world has a political system like ours, in which entrenched political insiders can be unceremoniously put out to pasture when they forget who they work for. The backers of immigration "reform" and those who would take away our fundamental right to self-defense would do well to remember that.
